I am very interested in current events that are going on around me. With the Inaguration of our new president there has been lots of talk coming from different political parties and those parties followers of what the best way to cure America of its burdens at the moment especially focusing on its poor economic status. I have tried to be fair and listend and read what both opposing sides have said on the issue and it really has educated me on what really is going on in the country I live in.
On January 25 a show called meet the press has political leaders talking about what they would be doing, will be doing, or even should be doing for this country to rid itself of all its debt. After listening to all of the arguments i would have to say that I would have to agree with the democratic side of things. I feel that if you keep the jobs of the police officers and give those pell grants to students in college( which i recieve) you will keep the economy going. It is simple college provides qualified people with jobs, and those people who get to keep their jobs do not have financial issue ( leads to spending more with in turn boost economy). Another thing during the Meet the Press interview that kind of caught my eye was when the host of the show was talking with the round table of three people at the end of the interview. He showed a comic strip that had a picture of a cartoon drawn President Obama at a his desk in the Oval Office where it read "Well he left me a nice note but he left a lot of stuff in his desk".... referrinf to George Bush it really was a pun against how much President Obama has on his plate right now. As for now he has made the American nation very aware that we will be going through very tough times for the next three months but believes he has the right plan for us to prosper in the future.
